2008-2009 UBER WARS RULES

UBER GROUPS
--Uber Wars is a competition between ten of the top Uber groups to determine overall superiority in the major Category A sports.
--The ten major Uber groups participating are Leaderboard, Living Legends Elite, Rascals, Central Sports, Inc., ESPN TOP 50, Shadow Platoon, American Patriots, The Players Club, Uber Wizdom, and TBD.  Each group will operate independently for the purposes of this competition.

SPORTS
--Uber Wars is a year round competition involving eight "contests" 1) FFL Traditional, 2) FFL Performance, * in 06 and 07 FFL was combined into one contest of 20 leagues 3) FHL Roto, 4) FHL H2H, 5) FBA Roto, 6) FBA H2H, 7) FLB Roto, and 8) FLB H2H.

CAPTAINS
--Each commissioner will designate a captain or co-captains who are responsible for recruiting, seeding, informing and troubleshooting for their group.
--The captain may be the commish or a designee of the commish.
--Captains are responsible for recruiting and seeding teams to represent their Uber group in cooperation with their commish.  They should be seeded roughly from best to worst, although this is of course subjective. Switches  may be made to help participants find a good draft time.
--Captains are responsible for making sure that each participant on their team is aware of rules and etiquette, and they are responsible for helping to resolve any problems that arise involving their group if possible.
--Captains must make every effort to fill leagues as soon as possible and not wait until the last minute.

UBER TEAMS
--Each Uber Wars group may have one primary and one secondary Uber group.  The captain must be a member of the primary group.  Any Uber group who is a secondary group must recognize that the primary group and its captain have the final say for determining Uber Wars rosters.  The secondary
group may have a different name as long as they acknowledge they are the secondary group for Uber Wars purposes.

PARTICIPANTS
--Participants must be members or the primary or secondary Uber group at the beginning of the season for the sport they are competing in.
--A participant may only represent one Uber group at a time.  If a participant switches Uber groups while they are representing one Uber group in Uber Wars they may not represent another Uber group in a sport with a significantly overlapping season.   FHL and FLB are not significantly overlapping. FBA and FLB are not significantly overlapping.  FFL and FLB or FHL are significantly overlapping. FLB and FFL are not significantly overlapping.
--A participant may own only one team per contest, including commish leagues.  A contest is FHL Roto for example.

TEAMS
--The Captain will recruit the following players for each Uber Wars contest from one of their two participating Uber groups.
 +FFL Football:  20 people.
+FHL Roto, FHL H2H, FBA Roto, FBA H2H, FLB Roto, FLB H2H: 10 people each.
--Commish league will be set up for each sport, alternating H2H and roto each year.
+Representative may be commish, captain or designee of commish.
+Commish League counts in standings of contest of same type.

ETIQUETTE
--Participants should respond to all trade offers in a polite and timely manner.
--No offense should be taken to any trade offer.  Simply accept or reject in a civil manner.
--Accepted offers may certainly come under the same scrutiny as any normal league.
--Trades should be protested only if the protester thinks the trade clearly represents collusion, incompetence or apathy.
--Trash talking is part of the game for many people to varying degrees, however participants should keep in mind they are reflecting on the rest of their group.

LEAGUE SETUP
--Leagues may be set up by any participant if they are not yet set up and the person follows these guidelines:
+Each league must be 10 team, private, live, single season, FLB is 5x5.
+Leagues must be name Uber Wars and organized by seed.  For example "Uber Wars R1" is for Roto FHL #1 seeds.
+Draft date will be a weekend or weeknight within a couple weeks of start of season.
+Draft time will be reasonable for both coasts for normal work and sleep hours.
+Team names should include their Uber group name or initials.  This helps the UW statistician.

+Captains may switch seeds around to allow participants to find amenable draft times, but this should be done promptly.

+All leagues will count in Uber Wars standings once draft has been run regardless of problems that may occur and regardless of whether or not its ESPNs fault and regardless if free team is awarded.
+If a draft must be scheduled for a later date due to unforeseen circumstances the league will be drafted as a single list auto draft so that no participant will  have to reschedule their lives because of the mistake of one person.
+Captains will have alternate on standby if possible in case of a last minute emergency.
+Post-draft, leagues should not disable trade review or waivers for either Roto or H2H.

SCORING AND STANDINGS
--FFL contest:  Each individual win is 2 points, each tie is 1 point. Each two week playoff counts as equivalent as one regular season week (2 points). All playoffs count.  Each league championship is 4 bonus points. Tiebreakers are 1) Most league champions, 2) Head to head, 3) Total points..
--FHL and FLB H2H contests:  2 points for category win, 1 point for tie.  All playoffs count the same as regular season.  40 bonus points for league champion. Tiebreaker 1) Most league champions, 2) Total wins in head to head between tied groups.
--FBA H2H contests:  1 point for a category win. There are no ties.  All playoffs count the same as regular season.  20 points bonus for league champion.  H2H tiebreaker:  1) Most league champions, 2) Total wins in H2H between groups.
--ROTO contests:  The Uber group's score will be the total of final scores for each participants.  Plus 12 bonus points for each league champion.  If co-champs, bonus is split 6-6 or 4-4-4.  Tiebreaker:  1) Most league champs, 2) Most points by #1 seed, 3) Most points by #2 seed, etc.
--Standings are determined for each contest based on the above scoring systems.

OVERALL RANKINGS
--The Uber Wars season starts with FFL and ends with FLB and overall Uberwars ranking will be determined based on above scoring rules.
--In all contests  an Uber group will be awarded "Overall" points inverse to final standings including playoffs and bonus points as specified above.  So the 1st place Uber group  gets 10 points and the last place team gets 1 point.
--In years when FFL is combined into one large contest of 20 leagues, the combined point system for first through 10th place will be as follows:  1st Place= 17 points, 2nd = 15, 3rd= 14, 4th= 13, 5th= 12,
6th= 10, 7th = 9, 8th= 8, 9th= 7, 10th= 5.  (Total 110, yahoo board message #1085 )
--If any Uber group replaces another during the season they will inherit their points, but this may mitigate the last place rule.
--On August 1st last place group will be determined by using final standings from all sports except FLB which is projected.
--Last place group on August 1st is eligible to be replaced  should suitable replacement  group apply and meet requirements.
--Final Uber group champion will be crowned at the end of the FLB season.

UBER WARS GROUP TRANSITIONS
